Programs/Services
Who Do We Serve?
OKFD serves developmentally delayed adults (18+) and their extended families. Caregivers, group homes and others in our community who wish to provide the optimum in care for their DD adult work in tandem with OKFD's case management team to provide the most quality care possible.

Adult Daycare
There are many "adult daycare" programs available in Oklahoma County, but only OKFD provides specialized daycare services for developmentally delayed adults. OKFD is licensed to provide adult daycare for 72 individuals and activities include music therapy, exercise, personal grooming, arts and crafts, outings in our community and much more.

Social Programs
The OKFD is hopping on Thursday nights! That’s when nearly 200 adults with disabilities gather for our social programs, which include music, games, sports and dancing. The social programs not only benefit our clients, who receive much-needed socialization, stimulation and exercise, but also their family members and or caregivers, who may be desperate for an evening to themselves once a week.

A Word on Respite Services
Many families who seek assistance from OKFD have chosen to keep their loved one at home instead of in a group home or institution. Their labor of love is exhausting and families experience extreme stress because of caring for their loved one, maintaining a career, a home, a marriage and a relationship with their other family members.

The OKFD gives them a much-needed break while their precious family member may participate in a variety of programs at OKFD. Daycare allows family members (including parents, siblings and extended family) and caregivers the opportunity to work full-time and provide much needed income for the home. Most of caregivers of our DD members are divorced, living on a single income and caring for a DD adult 30 years old +.
